  • Excellent sound insulation 🎧 Aluminum facades with glass with enhanced acoustic insulation guarantee a high level of soundproofing. This is a key advantage in buildings located in noisy, urban locations, ensuring comfort and quiet inside.
  • Optical enlargement and illumination of the space ☀️ Extensive glazing opens the building's interior to the surroundings, blurring the line between interior and exterior. This makes rooms appear significantly larger and brighter. Unlimited access to natural light positively impacts the well-being, comfort of work, and daily functioning of users.

🤔 Technological Challenges, or "Flaws" That Professionals Avoid

In the context of aluminum facades, challenges are often discussed. DOOR Filipek we perceive them as aspects that require knowledge and experience for the system to function flawlessly:

  • Thermal conductivity of aluminum Aluminum itself conducts heat well. Therefore, it's absolutely essential to use only "warm" insulated systems. At DOOR Filipek, we only use profiles with advanced thermal insulation inserts and spacers, which effectively eliminate this problem.
  • Surface sensitivity during assembly Aluminum is soft, meaning profiles can be scratched or dented if transported or installed incorrectly. 🚚 That's why choosing an experienced contractor is crucial. Our production and assembly team pays attention to every detail at every stage – from safe packaging to precise on-site assembly.
  • The key role of precise assembly Properly sealing a facade is absolutely crucial to preventing leaks and energy loss. 💧 Installation errors can lead to costly problems. That's why at DOOR Filipek, we rely exclusively on our own, specialized installation teams, who guarantee 100% tightness and proper operation of the structure.

📐 Types of Aluminum-Glass Facades in the DOOR Filipek Offer

We specialize in providing proven and effective facade systems:

  • Post and beam facade This is the most popular and classic system. Glass panels are mounted on a solid frame of aluminum profiles (vertical mullions and horizontal transoms). These profiles are visible from the outside, creating an aesthetic, geometric grid on the façade. We offer this system in a variety of aesthetic and thermal options.
  • Structural and semi-structural facade These systems are perfect for minimalists, creating the effect of a perfectly smooth, uniform glass pane. The aluminum profiles are partially (semi-structure) or completely (structure) concealed from the outside. The glass is attached to the structure using special adhesives or hidden mechanical fasteners.
  • Point facade ("Spider" type) In this solution, glass panels are attached to the supporting structure (e.g., steel or glass) using special point fasteners (rotules). This ensures maximum transparency and an exceptionally light, modern look.

What's the difference between enameled glass and Lacobel? A guide to aluminum joinery solutions.

What's the difference between enameled glass and Lacobel? A guide to aluminum joinery solutions.

In modern architecture and projects using aluminum joinery Not only the profile design is of great importance, but also the type and finish of the glass. Choosing between different types of decorative and functional glass affects aesthetics, durability, and range of applications. The most common variants are enameled glass (enamel), glass with ceramic print and Lacobel glassAlthough they may look similar at first glance, their properties and purposes differ significantly.

In this article we will explain:

  • how is it different ceramic enamel od ceramic print,
  • what is the difference between enamel and lacobel,
  • which solution works best in combination with aluminum joinery in external and internal architecture.

Emalit – enameled glass

Enamel This is tempered glass, which is then coated with a layer of special ceramic enamel. The glass then enters a tempering furnace, where the enamel is fused into the glass surface.

Characteristic:

  • Color fastness – the enamel is permanently bonded to the glass, making it resistant to UV radiation and weather conditions.
  • Security – the glass is tempered, so it has increased mechanical and thermal resistance.
  • Matte or semi-gloss finish – the visual effect depends on the enamel and technology used.
  • Uniform color – a wide range of colors possible, although less intense than in the case of organic varnishes.

Application:

Emalite is especially useful in facades ventilated, external structures, facade cladding, glass blinds, balustrades or elements exposed to weather conditions.

Lacobel – lacquered glass

lacobel is float glass on one side of which a layer is applied organic varnishUnlike enamel, glass is it is not hardened (although there are technologies that enable subsequent tempering of painted glass in special versions).

Characteristic:

  • Intense color and shine – the varnish surface gives the effect of depth and high gloss.
  • Delicacy – Lacobel glass is not resistant to weather conditions, so it is only used indoors.
  • Easy to care for – the smooth, shiny surface is easy to keep clean.
  • Color variety – a wide range of colors, from classic to designer shades.

Application:

Lacobel is mainly used in interiors – in built-in furniture, partition walls, decorative panels, kitchen and bathroom wall coverings.

Enamel and ceramic printing – the most important differences

Ceramic enamel (Emalit)

  • That's it uniform covering coating applied to the entire surface (or large parts) of the glass.
  • It is most often created in one color (white, black, gray, RAL colors), without patterns.
  • It is used to achieve an even, covering effect – e.g. for masking strips in facades.
  • The end result is a smooth sheet of glass with a uniform color.

Ceramic printing (screen printing or digital printing)

  • This is the application technology pattern or graphic using ceramic paints.
  • It can be implemented by the method screen printing (repeating patterns, e.g. dots, stripes) or digital printing (solid images, gradients, custom themes).
  • After printing, the glass also goes into the hardening furnace – the paint is fused into the sheet and becomes part of the glass.
  • The end result is decorative or functional glass – you can obtain, for example, sun protection glass with a raster pattern, facade graphics or advertising elements.

Summary of the differences between enamel and digital printing:

  • Enamel = uniform, covering coating in one color.
  • Ceramic print = pattern/graphics applied with ceramic paint (screen printing/digital), giving more aesthetic and functional possibilities.

Both methods are resistant to UV, weather conditions and mechanical damage because the paint becomes an integral part of the glass after tempering.

Emalit and Lacobel – the most important differences

Characteristic Enamel (enameled glass) Lacobel (lacquered glass)
Production process Applying ceramic enamel and hardening Applying organic varnish
Resistance High – resistant to UV, moisture and weather conditions Low – for indoor use only
Security Hardened, resistant to impacts and temperature changes No tempering as standard, glass is fragile
Finish Matte or semi-gloss High gloss, depth effect
Color palette Rich but subdued Very wide, saturated colors
Application Facades, elevations, balustrades, external elements Interiors: furniture, walls, decorations

Application in aluminum joinery

Aluminum and glass are a perfect pair – lightweight, durable aluminum profiles blend perfectly with various glass options, and the choice between enamel, digital printing, or lacobel depends on the intended use of the project.

  • Aluminum joinery in exterior architecture:
In the case of facades, ventilated facades or structures exposed to atmospheric factors, the clear leader is enamel or digital printIts resistance to UV and moisture ensures long-lasting color and a safe and aesthetically pleasing structure.
  • Interior aluminum joinery:
When aluminum profiles are used inside buildings – e.g. for office buildings, partition walls or interior design – it is worth reaching for lacobelIts high gloss, intense colors, and modern finish enhance the design of the rooms while maintaining the lightness of the entire structure.

Summary

Choosing between glass enameled a lacobel comes down to the question: Is the glass intended to operate in outdoor or indoor conditions?

  • If we care about durability, resistance and safety in facade structures – we choose enamel or digital print.
  • If design, shine and intense colors in the interior are your priorities, the perfect solution will be lacobel.

By using both technologies in combination with modern aluminum joinery, architects and investors have a full range of possibilities at their disposal – from minimalist facades to impressive interiors.

The photos show the state in progress. Panes with solar protection properties and increased acoustic insulation were used in the external joinery, both in aluminum windows and in glass facades. An interesting solution for the aluminum facade was the use of a special type of glass with a ceramic print, thanks to which it is possible to make any graphic on the glass at the customer's request. The entire process of making glass sets consists in preparing an appropriate graphic file, cutting and processing the glass, printing and, depending on your preferences, adding special properties of the glass, such as tempering or combining individual panes of the set. Each print is precisely crafted with attention to detail for a decorative effect like never before. You can print on glass with dimensions from 3 to 19 mm and dimensions from 150 x 350 mm to 2200 x 4000 mm.

-> Printing resolution can be up to 1440 DPI (i.e. the length of one inch, the printer puts 1440 dots).

The print is highly resistant to weather conditions, does not emit toxic fumes and is resistant to mechanical damage or abrasion. Therefore, this method can be used both inside and outside the building in the form of table tops, balustrades or advertising panels.

Another glass wall in the second twin building at BSAG is ready. The anthracite profiles of the mullion and transom façade and the dark composite stopsol graphite glass are a harmonious composition shown in the pictures below. In the products made, such as glass façade walls, aluminum entrance doors and PVC windows, the type of glass used is of great importance. What type is it and what properties does it have?

Stopsol glass is a type of glass that has been specially designed to reduce the amount of heat and UV radiation that penetrates windows. It was created to provide protection against excessive heating of rooms, and at the same time allow light to flow inside. Stopsol glass has a metal or metal-oxidizing coating that reduces the amount of solar energy that penetrates the glass. This coating is applied to one side of the glass during the manufacturing process.

Stopsol glass is available in different colors that affect its properties and appearance. The most common colors are:

->Stopsol Classic Bronze reflective glass: bronze tint glass that provides protection against excessive heat and reduces the amount of UV radiation.

-> Stopsol Super Silver Clear reflective glass: glass with a silver tint that provides very high protection against excessive heating and UV radiation.

->Stopsol Dark Blue reflective glass: blue-tinted glass that provides protection against excessive heat and UV radiation, while giving the room a cool look.

->Stopsol Classic Clear reflective glass: a glass with a natural color that provides very high protection against excessive heat and UV radiation, while giving the room a bright and modern look.

Appropriate selection of glass thickness makes it possible to use it for all types of aluminum and PVC windows and doors.

Stopsol glass is used in construction, especially in the case of large glass surfaces, such as building facades, shop windows or conservatories.

Aluminum doors and windows in a layer of insulation

Aluminum doors and windows in a layer of insulation

A large investment requires, among other things, hard and solid work, proper control and organization of work. The following investment is a return to the past by several years, in which we had the pleasure of using aluminum window, door and facade systems. This facility is proof that we are able to perform the most difficult tasks and concepts presented to us.

Window installation outside the walls is a window installation technique in which the windows are mounted outside the building's wall, instead of inside. This solution is often used in modern buildings to gain more space inside and provide better thermal insulation. Installation of windows outside the walls consists in placing the windows on special assembly consoles, which are fixed from the outside of the building wall. This installation is more costly than traditional installations, but it provides better thermal and acoustic properties, as well as more space inside the building.

Installation of windows outside the wall, i.e. in the insulation layer, is an installation method that almost entirely applies to this investment and the following products:

In addition, we made and installed:

Installing windows outside the walls has several advantages, including:

  1. More space inside the building: Since the windows are mounted on the outside of the wall, they do not take up space inside the building.
  2. Better thermal insulation: Windows installed outside the walls are usually equipped with additional seals that prevent heat loss from the building.
  3. Better sound insulation: Installation of windows outside the walls allows for an additional layer of sound insulation, which is especially important in noisy urban areas.
  4. More light: Outside-wall windows are usually larger than traditional windows, which means more daylight enters the room.
  5. Aesthetics: Installing windows outside the walls can give a building a modern look and also allow for better use of the space outside the building.

Despite these advantages, installing windows outside the walls can be more costly than traditional installations and requires specialist knowledge and skills to ensure proper installation.
